Description

Specimen # BOL711B51

ridiculously rare specimen consisting of radiating crystal aggregates of Vauxite on clay matrix

Back in the late 1980s or early 1990s (according to various sources) there was a discovery at the Golconda Mine that produced some extraordinary Bertrandites

so the piece has wonderful balance

Copper ("Spinel"-twin) Amber Specimen # BOL711B51This is a classic example of what a "Spinel" twinned Copper should look like. The piece has a beautiful mixture of the elongated form of the twin itself which plays beautifully against the smooth outer octahedral crystal faces. If you look to the center, you will see the concave "channels" that run the length of the specimen, these are essentially the contact planes where the crystals are twinned together. The piece is doubly terminated with no damage
