Chinese Export Black Lacquer Jewellery Box - Early 19th Century Material Cardboard 22 x 25 x 60This gilt Chinese export jewelry box is in excellent condition and decorated in delicate gilt and black lacquer. This example dates to the early 19th century. It is made in the typical form with brass swan neck handles which are classic English Regency style. The detailed gilt black lacquer work was made using the maki e technique and required a high level of technical skill. This intricate and detailed style of chinoiserie work was made in Canton for
